Day 2, Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour

Have Breakfast at hotel followed by a Full day Cape Peninsula- highlights visit: Clifton and Camps Bay, Twelve Apostles, Llandudno, Hout Bay (optional boat trip to Seal Island) Chapman’s Peak Drive Noordhoek Ostrich viewing drive by Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope, Penguin Colony, Simon’s Town, Muizenberg, Constantia, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Have optional Lunch at Two Ocean restaurant for your sea food selection.

Day 4, Fly to Mpumalanga for Kruger National Park

After Breakfast in Stellenbosch hotel, we check out and you are transferred to Cape town International airport for your flight to Nelspruit city, on arrival at Nelspruit international airport, you will be waited by our Nelspruit driver guide who will transfer you to Bush wise safari lodge for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast, light lunch and dinner, check in and embark on an experience that includes the Night, Morning and an afternoon game drives, which are all 3 hrs. Safari experiences.

Day 5, Full day Kruger National Park

Have an early breakfast and an early start from 06:00hrs for your Kruger full day safari game drives inside the Kruger National Park, on this day we will have a packed light lunch and return to the hotel for Dinner. +-8hrs, see if you can spot the big five on this full day make sure your batteries are full charged also get extra camera batteries and storage flash, for emergency purposes, returning not later than 16:00hrs if you are still strong embark on an optional afternoon game drive that leads to a night game drive which is available at the time of your return from a full day.

Day 8, Fly to Victoria Falls, Zambia

Morning is free till departure time; you will be transferred to OR Tambo international airport for your flight to Victoria Falls, Meet and greet by our Livingstone driver guide after the Customs and Immigration procedures at the Harry Mwanga Nkumbula (Livingstone) international airport, you are then transferred to Avani Resort hotel for 1 nights stay. On your way to the hotel you shall be passing through the Historical Museum in Livingstone town and after we will leave the rest of the day for you to spend more time in the Victoria falls, Zambia side, no need to pay for the falls entrance as it is included in your AVANI package, plus it’s a walk able distance from the AVANI resort properties, optional dinners are served at the hotel restaurant.

Day 9, Overnight in Chobe National Park, Botswana

After breakfast check out, 05:50 be at the hotel lobby, as your journey commences in the morning as you are transferred towards Kasane Botswana for an overnight stay at Chobe Safari Lodge and you will experience a full day excursion, where we are going to experience two 3hour activities in the famous Chobe National park, get the best of both worlds in specially adapted open 4x4 game drive vehicles and by boat cruise. Guests are picked for their first activity a river cruise into the park with an opportunity to see a host of waders and water birds along the ever-present crocodiles and lurking hippos. After 3 hours in the river clients come back and a satisfying lunch is served and after a one-hour lunch break guests head off on another 3hr game drive – getting close to the nature with open 4x4 vans, Chobe has highest elephant density in the world. Frequent Lions sightings occur in Chobe, sables and roan antelope are common, please note that we have provided lunch hence dinners own account.

Day 10, Overnight Hwange National park

It’s rise and shine as you are woken up at dawn, around 05:30am for your 3hrs early morning game drive, which will start the day after upon around 09:30am return, you will have breakfast, after breakfast, check out and leave for Hwange national park, crossing the Kazungula border do the customs and immigration formalities, drive from Kasane to Hwange National Park, is a bit distance of approx. 190km one way, passing through the villages and Hwange town. Check in at the Hwange Safari Lodge for an overnight once again, and we are prepared for the Afternoon game drives in the Hwange National park and have the sundowner in nature, finish the day with a dinner at the lodge, Stories around the campfire and star gazing make your day complete, before you climb the stairs of your comfortable safari suites to settle for the night.

Day 12, Guided Tour of Victoria falls

After a hearty breakfast we drive towards the rain forest for a two hour guided tour of the falls, after the tour, a complimentary big tree view and we leave the rest of afternoon for optional activities like: - Helicopter flights, Lion walk, Elephant rides, Bungee jumping, Gorge swing all these activities are at US$150p/p per each activity excluding park fees. If you choose an optional Boma diner drum show you will be collected from your hotel at 19:30Hrs for your evening dinner at a famous restaurant at Victoria Falls safari lodge called the Boma. Experience the Optional Boma cultural drum beating and you might have chance to taste the Mopani worm which most of our guests says it taste like biltong, after a full participatory activity you are then transferred back to the hotel for your night stay at around 21:30hrs.

Day 13, Fly in to Windhoek

Have your breakfast, check out and transferred back to Victoria falls international airport for your onward flights to Namibia Namibian airways flight times 12:30 noon, these times normally change to 16:00hrs always advise the hotel on your late check out if time changes, and normally our guides will come pick you up from your hotel lobby for the transfer to the Victoria falls airport and you need to be at the airport 2hrs before your departure times and you will be arriving at the Windhoek Hosea Kutako international airport at 13:10pm or 18:30hrs Namibian time, after customs and Immigration procedures our driver guide on the Namibian side will meet and greet welcoming you, and Pick up from airport or hotel Overnight at Klein Guest house for 1 nights stay.

Day 14, Sossusvlei Sand Dunes Tour

Early morning departure from 08:00am and today we visit Sossusvlei, one of Namibia’s most famous attractions. The towering sand dunes (up to 325 meters high) are at their most beautiful in the early morning so we set out early to see the color transformation of the dunes at its best. You will have an opportunity to climb one of the highest dunes and we will visit Sesriem Canyon where the Tsauchab River has exposed millions of years of geological history on a full board basis and all our meals are prepared by our guide, check in is at Sesriem, Sossus Dune lodge or similar.

Day 15, Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Today we drive through the Namib Naukluft Park, the third largest game reserve in Africa and one of the largest in the world. You will have plenty of opportunities to see gemsbok, springbok and ostrich. We pass through the Kuiseb Canyon and arrive in Walvis Bay in time for Optional lunch. Check in at Swakopmund Luxury Suites Hotel for 2 nights stay, and our guide or hotel will advise the best restaurants in town and booking of a table is essential upon your arrival.

Start your day with optional activities in Swakopmund, you may decide to explore the town with its spectacular German colonial-style architecture, the lighthouse and the Kristal Galleries where you can see the largest known crystal cluster. There are also opportunities to go quad biking, sand boarding or enjoy a dolphin cruise, optional dinner out.

Day 17, Swakopmund to Twyfelfontein or Damaraland

After breakfast we depart for Damaraland, a land of contrasts with majestic flat-topped mountains, deep gorges and plains stretching as far as the eye can see. This afternoon we visit Twyfelfontein: rock engravings, some of which date back 5,000 year.

Day 18, Etosha National Park Safari Tours

Today we head for Etosha National Park. On the way we stop at the Petrified Forest. These petrified remains are trees that had fallen or been uprooted 250 million years ago and either floated down rivers or were brought down by flood waters.
Overnight at Halali Etosha Safari Camp, or similar, please note due to scarce and limited availability of these properties we will always advise the guests for the tentative accommodation which is still located inside the national park so it can be Okaukuejo safari camp or Halali safari camp which are of similar set up and are run by the same company NWR, and all our meals are bed and breakfast basis, plus fully inclusive of game drives in our closed 4 x 4 vehicles, with drop down windows.

Day 19, Travel from Etosha National Park to Windhoek

See if you can spot the Etosha big five on an early morning game drive on our way out to Windhoek, Etosha National Park is unique in Africa. The park's main characteristic is a salt pan so large it can be seen from space. Yet there is abundant wildlife that congregates around the waterholes, giving you almost guaranteed game sightings. At the same time Etosha National Park is one of the most accessible game reserves in Namibia and Southern Africa. drive to Windhoek arriving around 16:30hrs check in is at Windhoek Hilton hotel.

Tips on what to pack on your Southern Africa, Desert Hiking and Safari Tour

1. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is a must. Put it on always during the trip. Make sure the sunscreen you bring in is non-aerosol. The bands go on later in the evening.
2. Hat
You don’t want your scalp to peel. A scalp sunburn is like the worst, ever. Bring a hat.
3. Comfortable shoes, Sand Boots can be ideal
You’re also going to be on your feet and rocking out. Also, heels are not a great idea — you’ll sink in the sand.
4. Bandana or scarf
This is my desert must. If it’s too hot, you can soak a bandana in water and put it on your neck to cool off during the day. Be aware that it gets windy in the desert and the scarf or bandana can be used as a dust mask on the paths back to the parking lots. I like the infinity scarves that can also double as a shawl if it gets too cold.
5. External battery and phone charger
Your phones are, probably going to die at Desert Trip. And you probably won’t be able to call or text or tweet once everyone is in the field. But, one way to keep your phone alive to snap photos and just in case of an emergency, is to bring along a small external battery. They’re inexpensive and will often give your phone a full charge.
6. Ear plugs
It’s going to be loud. Plan ahead and bring some ear plugs.
7. Hand sanitizer
With tens of thousands of people and walking around in a big field, you’re probably going to want this.
8. Empty Camelback or water bottle
Dehydration is serious business. Take care of yourself, especially in the heat, and bring in a bottle (up to 1ltr) to fill up with water on site. Trust me, you will want this.
9. Sweatshirt or jacket
Even with the warmer temperatures during the day, the breeze can kick in early mornings and after sundown and it can get downright cold. Be prepared with layers.
10. A good pair of Sun glasses
11. Binoculars and a camera with lots of film! For digital ensure batteries are charged- there is no electricity in the bush (we can charge via the cigarette lighter) Please bring something to cover your valuable as it gets wet during highwater seasons (December - May)
12. There will be times when you are exposed to the sun so a thin long sleeve shirt may come in handy.
13. Please attempt to travel as light as possible- space is always an issue on Full Day Safari Trip.
14. Last but not least, a sense of humour …………this is Africa!
