Our 4 days 3 nights overnight Safari stays in Hwange national park is the practical way of experiencing Hwange National park and offers a magnificent opportunity to sittings for Lions, cheetah  and Leopards also Hwange  full day safari trips from Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park departs daily, please note that night game drives are done outside the National park, and the park closes at 18H00 and opens 06H00. Also note that for those staying in Livingstone Zambia side we are also able to arrange the pick up from the Zambia Hotels, we can pick you from Livingstone, Zambia and or Kasane, Botswana hotels.

Wildlife & Animals – Hwange NP

The elephant population in Hwange is one of the largest in the world. The number of elephants congregating around the waterholes at the end of the Dry season is a sight to behold. All of the Big Five are present and easily spotted, with the exception of the white rhino or the black rhino, which is shy and tends to stick to the bushes.

Animals you might come across in the national park are Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Giraffes, zebras, Antelope all kinds, Baboons, Ostriches, Warthogs, Hippos, Crocodiles .and beautiful bird life. Etc. 

Best Time for Wildlife Viewing

The middle and end of the Dry season (from July to October) is the best time for wildlife viewing in the park. Wildlife is easier to spot because vegetation is thinner and animals gather around predictable water sources. At this time, it is quite common to see a large variety of animals drinking at the artificial waterholes, and there is always a chance to witness a kill.

Day 1 Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park

Clients are picked from their respective hotels at 6.30am; they may request packed breakfast from their hotel. The drive to and from Victoria Falls is approx. 190km one way, passing through the villages and Hwange town. Check in at Hwange Safari Lodge or a similar lodge, around 09h00 you are transferred into our Open 4 X 4 Game Drive vehicles and do the mid-morning game drive and then break for lunch inside the Hwange National Park. Drives are done along the water Holes and deep into the park where a lot of game is seen including lions and herds of elephants. On this drive clients would enjoy the company of our experienced and informative guides.
Our driver guide always looks for the best spot to stop and have your packed lunches that is around 13h00, After Lunch around 14h00 we continue with your drives deeper into Hwange National Park for more safari game drive, and this time we try a different route, return back to the hotel around 18:00hrs and finish the day with an optional dinner at the lodge, Stories around the campfire and star gazing make your day complete, before you climb the stairs of your comfortable safari Suites to settle for the night.

Day 2 Hwange Full Day Safari Tour

Early rise and shine, guests are woken up at dawn to search for the Savannah and forest for predators and see the sun rise, at around 9:30am return back for breakfast and then after breakfast relax at the hotel pool or take a nap after lunch 13:30 you are prepared for your afternoon game drive in the National park, coming out of the park around 18H00, Optional Night game drive is available check with your guide and make arrangements @ US$45p/p no Park fees will be needed, 

Main Destination: Hwange National Park (Zimbabwe)

Accommodation: Hwange Safari Lodge Mid-range lodge few minutes drive to the  Hwange NP entrance.

Meals & Drinks:

  • Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included)
  • Mineral Water included during transfers & activities, but Water & Drinks not included at the Lodge.

Activities of the Day:

  • Early Morning Game drives and Afternoon Game Drives(excluding park fees US$20p/p per day)
  • Optional Activities Night Game drive on our private concession (Extra cost at US$65p/p)

Day 3 Walking Safari / Early morning Game Drive in Hwange National Park
On this last day you are woken up at dawn once again to search for the Savannah and forest for predators and see the sunrise, on this day we will do our activities with a difference, a combined short Game drive towards the main camp where we will meet our National Park Game Rangers, this walking safari is done by and accompanied by national park professional safari guide/ Ranger with a gun, we walk from the main camp as the ranger instructs us, for about 45 minutes to an hour and return back to the main camp, get into our game drive vehicles and return back for breakfast and then after breakfast relax at the hotel pool at around 10H00 check out and leave for Victoria Falls. Please note that you either choose to walk or just do another game drive, always advise the central reservations if walking is not possible for you during or before booking this tour, such that we may make proper arrangements, according to our guest’s fitness.

Day 4 Hwange National Park to Victoria falls
On this last day you are woken up at dawn once again to search for the Savannah and forest for predators and see the sun rise,our Game drive explorer the other sites of the park which has not been reached and the Nyamandlovu Platform forms the center of the captivity on this day, at around 9:30am return back for breakfast and then after breakfast relax at the hotel pool at around 10H00 check out and leave for Victoria Falls.

Main Destination: Victoria Falls City

Accommodation: No accommodation at the end of Tour

Meals & Drinks:

  • Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included)
  • Mineral water Included but Drinks not included

Activities of the Day:

What to pack for your Tented or Accommodated Safari.

Generally, casual comfortable clothing is suitable throughout the year, dull neutral
Colours are most suitable.
The most practical items for Safari are:
 T shirts
 Jeans or safari trousers for the cool evenings and mornings
 A fleece or warm sweater for those early morning game drives.
 A good pair of Sunglasses
 Sun block, a hat and insect repellent are essential!
 Binoculars and a camera with lots of film! For digital ensure batteries are charged- there is no electricity in the bush (we can charge via the cigarette lighter)
 A headlamp or torch is vital.
 If you enjoy a whisky or the like, you are welcome to bring a bottle along.
 A towel, and your own toiletries (ladies please remember there are no shops for emergencies)
 Any medication if necessary, we do have a medical aid box with the basics.
 There will be times when you are exposed to the sun so a thin long sleeve shirt may come in handy.
 The early morning drives will be very cold in the winter months -so layers are best to keep out the chill in the back of the game drive vehicle. (June, Jul, Aug)
 Please attempt to travel as light as possible- space is always an issue on Safari.

Last but not least, a sense of humour …………this is Africa!
