Day 1, Hwange Day Trip, Hwange Full Day Safari Tour

Clients are picked from their respective hotels at 6.30am; they may request packed breakfast from their hotel. The drive to and from Victoria Falls is approx. 380km return, Drives are done along the water Holes and deep into the park were there are high chances of seeing a lot of game including the cats like lions, Leopards and plus many herds of elephants. On this drive clients would enjoy the company of our experienced and informative guides, after arriving at Hwange Main Camp around 09:00 hrs. You are transferred into our Open 4 X 4 Game Drive vehicles and do the mid-morning game drive which starts at 09:30 and then break for lunch, have the packed lunch while surrounded by nature right in the national park on our picnic sights or Platforms facing the waterhole, after that we continue to hunt for more game during the afternoon drive before returning back to Victoria Falls at arround 16:00hrs. See if you can spot one of the Big five game in our Safari drives through the National park. The arrival time in Victoria Falls depends on the activities and time of coming out of the National park approx. 20:00hrs and make dinner arrangements with your hotel.

Wildlife & Animals – Hwange NP

The elephant population in Hwange is one of the largest in the world. The number of elephants congregating around the waterholes at the end of the Dry season is a sight to behold. All of the Big Five are present and easily spotted, with the exception of the white rhino or the black rhino, which is shy and tends to stick to the bushes.

Animals you might come across in the national park are Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Giraffes, zebras, Antelope all kinds, Baboons, Ostriches, Warthogs, Hippos, Crocodiles .and beautiful bird life. Etc.

Best Time for Wildlife Viewing

The middle and end of the Dry season (from July to October) is the best time for wildlife viewing in the park. Wildlife is easier to spot because vegetation is thinner and animals gather around predictable water sources. At this time, it is quite common to see a large variety of animals drinking at the artificial waterholes, and there is always a chance to witness a kill.

*Tips on What to pack for your Hwange Full Day Safari Tour*.

Generally, casual comfortable clothing is suitable throughout the year, dull neutral
Colours are most suitable.
The most practical items for Safari are:
 T shirts
 Jeans or safari trousers for the cool evenings and mornings
 A good pair of Sunglasses
 *A lot of Sun block, a hat and insect repellent are essential!
 Binoculars and a camera with lots of film! For digital ensure batteries are charged- there is no electricity in the bush (we can charge via the cigarette lighter)
 There will be times when you are exposed to the sun so a thin long sleeve shirt may come in handy.
 The early morning drives will be very cold in the winter months -so layers are best to keep out the chill in the back of the game drive vehicle. (June, Jul, Aug)
 Please attempt to travel as light as possible- space is always an issue on Full Day Safari Trip.

Last but not least, a sense of humour …………this is Africa!
